My eyePhone
Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I totally bought an iPhone. Don’t look at me like that, it’s not that outrageous a purchase, when you think about it.
I was thinking about a Blackberry with internet service added for $29 a month… That’s $377 a year! So it was actually cheaper to buy an iPhone. Not to mention the audio recording and [...]

Re-Thinking Kirby’s Thor
Monday, September 10th, 2007

Inspired by Big Time Attic’s post on the “Re-Inking Kirby’s Thor” flickr group, the San Francisco Cartoonist Conspiracy decided to give it a go.
For the first attempt, 5 artists took a crack at inking over Jack Kirby’s penciled page in their own style.

Then, to take things a little further, several artists attempted to “Re-Draw” the [...]

I got third
Sunday, September 9th, 2007

It was weird, I worked on my 1A routine throughout the week and decided to enter the open division at the last minute. I did a pretty good 1A one minute freestyle, then improvised a freehand 3 minute routine. When it came time to do my three minute 1A freestyle I was really excited, [...]

I don’t know exactly what reaction these guys are aiming for with this ad. I guess it’s trying to take a disaster and turn it into something lighthearted, but nothing that says “You’ve totally gotta come see New Orleans.”

But will it work?

I guess I’ll find out at the Exploratorium this Saturday.

Chronicle article online now
Thursday, September 6th, 2007

w00t! The Chronicle article is up, you can read it online here. Be sure to check out the cool video too. I seem to have barely made it into the article, which is a shame ’cause I said some neat stuff, but that’s how this stuff always goes. BTW, I’m using a B.I.S.T., that’s a [...]

Alt Weakly coverage of the Cal State Yo-Yo Contest
Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

The TV shot didn’t happen this morning. Right when I got to the Exploratorium, the news team called and said they couldn’t make it due to a huge fire they had to cover.
That’s the second trip to the Exploratorium this week, it’s a long crummy MUNI ride early in the morning. I’ve got too much [...]

That Doc Pop is hot right now.
Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

I did an interview with the Chronicle today, for their paper and online editions and also for their video blog. The guys from the paper were really cool, so I was really relaxed and “unfiltered” during the interview. So now I wonder if they’ll post the part where I said “all my friends are professional [...]

Labor Day
Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Yesterday was keen. I had a custom order from my friend Isaac who works at 826 Valencia. On the weekends he works security at Zeitgiest, so I met up with a bunch of friends and dropped it off there. Isaac is an awesome dude, so I added the hidden embroidery as a surprise.

Shoe Balance
Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Lately, my flat feet have been giving me problems. Most shoes don’t have fantastic arch support, but I’ve heard really good things about New Balances.
Well, during a recent New Balance search on eBay, I found this awesome pair of New Balance prototypes for HELLA cheap. From what I understand, these shoes never went into production. [...]
